“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
This title that God declares of Himself is in relationship to the earth. I make this assessment because He is the one who “is to come.” The theme of this book is Jesus’ coming to the earth unto handing it over to His Father; heaven and earth becoming one. The uncreated God has made covenant with creation; He will forever identify Himself with us.
He is affirming the revelation of the eternity of God. He existed before the timetable of creation began and He will continue to be; unchanging and unwavering. Though kingdoms rise and fall; He is constant and posses all might, He is almighty. God bookends creation. He alone has the final say. No one else’s opininion matters and no one else has authority over my soul. Man may harm my body, but God alone has the power to cast my soul into Hell, so Him alone I will fear.
