Jesus’ Dual Judgements (Revelation 1:16b)

out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword

In our cry for justice, Jesus comes with a two sided sword. He comes with dual judgements. The same sword that comes with deliverance also exposes the wickedness in our own hearts. He cuts away all that does not produce fruits of righteousness in our lives.

Jesus’ words are never idle, but always active. His word cuts through the hearts of men; exposing every intention. Jesus said that the words He has spoken shall judge people on the last day. Through His judgements, we see His righteousness.

(yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.” -Luke 2:35

He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him–the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. -John 12:48

Jesus has zeal to fight for us against all that opposes us. He fights against sickness and demonic oppression. Ultimately He will fight against the antichrist who leads the nations in fighting against God and His elect. This will be deliverance for the people of God.

Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. -Revelation 19:15
