Jesus is Our Victorious Bridegroom King (Song of Songs 2:8)

The voice of my beloved!
Behold, he comes
Leaping upon the mountains,
Skipping upon the hills.

How do you see Jesus in the midst of the obstacles in your life? Do you see Him as passive or actively involved? Do you see Him as defeated or victorious?

The Shulamite hears the voice of the bridegroom. She sees Him coming towards her. This  time he is not seen tending to the flock or resting under the apple tree. He is leaping over the mountains and skipping over the hills. Imagine watching someone dancing on a tight across the Grand Canyon. It looks dangerous and He is moving with ease. Also imagine a lion with eyes focused on its prey, moving across the plain. The Shulamite has never seen the bridegroom like this before, she has only known Him in His gentleness. He is more than a bridegroom though; He is a warrior king. She is filled with awe of His beauty and grace. She trembles in the sight of His strength and intensity.

Jesus is seen overcoming the obstacles and challenges of life. The terrifying heights before us are as nothing to Him.

I want to know Jesus as the warrior king! Our hearts need to behold His victory.  Jesus is our beloved who has overcome the world. He is crazy in love us and there are no situations in our lives that are too difficult for Him. When I feel discouraged by the mountains before me, I ask the Lord to renew my perspective. I press in to behold Jesus! He is the conquering lion! He is our Victorious Bridegroom King!
